I don't use cookie-cutter lesson plans.
I get to know my students—what interests them, what frustrates them, what motivates them, and what helps them learn. I adjust instruction based on what I see from week to week.
Sometimes that means slowing down and rebuilding a skill. Sometimes it means finding a completely different way to explain something. And sometimes it means putting aside the planned lesson to help a student with an important assignment due tomorrow.
My goal isn't simply better reading and writing skills. It's helping students become more confident, capable, and independent learners.
